Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Biller to join our medical office team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing billing processes, ensuring accurate coding, and facilitating timely collections. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, coding systems, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Duties

Process and review patient billing information for accuracy and completeness.
Utilize medical coding knowledge, including ICD-9 and ICD-10 codes, to ensure proper billing.
Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies and follow up on any outstanding payments.
Conduct medical collections by contacting patients regarding unpaid bills and resolving discrepancies.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical billing regulations and compliance requirements.
Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify any discrepancies in patient records or billing information.
Manage the documentation of all billing activities in the designated systems.
Assist in the training of new staff on billing procedures and software systems as needed.

Qualifications

Previous experience in medical billing or coding is preferred.
Familiarity with medical terminology and coding systems (ICD-9, ICD-10) is essential.
Knowledge of DRG (Diagnosis Related Group) coding is a plus.
Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a busy medical office environment.
Proficiency in using medical billing software and other relevant systems.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective interaction with patients and healthcare providers.
