Key Responsibilities

Plans, delegates, and coordinates nursing care for a specific patient population.
Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates individualized patient care plans.
Prepares and administers medications as ordered and oversees the administration of medications in the sterile field.
Maintains accurate records by completing all required documentation, including charge mechanisms and information transfers.
Ensures the department is ready for patient care at all times.
Supervises and assigns tasks to LPNs, ORTs/CSTs, and Nursing Assistants, ensuring accuracy in their work.
Enforces safety and infection control policies to maintain a safe and sterile environment.
Responds appropriately to emergencies and regularly checks emergency supplies and equipment.
Performs both scrub and circulating roles in surgery as needed.
Restocks rooms daily, alerting the appropriate personnel when supplies are low.
Carries out additional duties as assigned by the Director of Surgery.
