Autonomous nursing care is the ability of a nurse to assess and provide nursing actions as appropriate for patient care populations based on competence, professional expertise, and knowledge. The nurse is expected to practice autonomously consistent with ANA Standards of Practice and Professional Performance. Independent judgment is expected to be exercised within the context of interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary approaches to patient care.

Minimum Qualifications

Must be a graduate from an accredited school of Nursing.
RN License issued by the State of California.
BART or BLS certification at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.
Minimum one year of nursing experience in an ambulatory/outpatient care setting.
Experience or interest in working with diverse populations including LGBTQA+ community.
Ability to perform triage and handle critical and/or urgent situations with accuracy, expediency and speed, accuracy and tact.

Preferred Qualifications

BSN.
Proficient in Epic.
Experience working in a surgical specialty or urgent care setting.
Experience working with burn, oncologic, trauma, transgender patients.
Experience independently managing nurse clinic.
Wound care
Experience working with care teams and transitioning between care teams, acting as a resource.
Patient photography with Mirror/Vectra imaging software.
Bilingual Spanish.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS

Must be able to work various hours, days, shifts, on-call and various locations based on business needs.
This position will cover for other RNs within the ambulatory clinic to include triage and patient care. Must be flexible to cover additional responsibilities.
Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
Selected candidate may be hired at the CNIII/CNIV level pending review and approval by the Nurse Executive Council.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $123,902 - $173,659 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $59.34 - $83.17

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
