Registered Nurse (RN) - Labor and Delivery

Location: Pomona, CA

Virtus Healthcare Staffing is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our partner hospital's Labor and Delivery unit in Pomona, CA. This role offers a unique opportunity to provide exceptional care to expectant mothers and their newborns in a supportive and dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive nursing care to women during labor, delivery, and the postpartum period.
Conduct thorough assessments, develop individualized care plans, and implement evidence-based nursing interventions.
Monitor fetal heart rate and maternal vital signs, recognizing and responding to any potential complications.
Assist with deliveries, including vaginal and cesarean births.
Administer medications and treatments as ordered by the physician.
Educate patients and families on labor, delivery, postpartum care, and newborn care.
Collaborate effectively with the multidisciplinary team, including obstetricians, midwives, and other healthcare professionals.
Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient care.

Qualifications

Experience: 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience is preferred, but new graduates with strong clinical skills may be considered. Licensure: Active California RN license. Certifications:

BLS (Basic Life Support)
AWHONN Advanced
NRP Advanced (must include all 11 components)
Advanced Fetal Monitoring (AFM)

Skills: Vaginal Exam Ability/Experience Baby Care Ability/Experience Experience with a range of births, from 300

Additional Information

First-time travelers: Accepted
Weekend Requirement: 2 weekends every 6 weeks (night shift weekends may include Fridays).
On-call: No
Floating: No
Blocked Scheduling: No
Locals: Accepted
Pending License: Not accepted
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours, with the possibility of up to 3 shifts being canceled during the 13-week assignment.
RTO: 1 holiday RTO request allowed, but staff will most likely work holidays.
