The Quality Assurance Reviewer reviews survey findings by Health Facility Surveyors.
Job Tasks
Reviews all survey findings prior to submission to state agencies to ensure CMS’s Principles of Documentation and state writing guidelines are followed. The QA Reviewer must ensure the appropriate citations were cited, and the correct scope and severity was assigned. QA reviews will include complaint summaries, citations, survey shells, and surveyor documentation. Must provide written and verbal feedback to surveyors on findings.
Track and provide feedback on surveyor performance to the Director of Survey Operations, QA Supervisor, and/or Training Coordinator. May be required to assist with developing surveyor tools, such as checklist and investigative tools, or provide surveyor training.
Attends training sessions and staff meetings offered by Federal and State officials and CertiSurv.

The ability to independently represent CertiSurv and State regulatory agencies in a professional manner while in contact with healthcare facilities, patients/residents, and the public.
The ability to establish and maintain effective and appropriate working relationships with co-workers and the public, interacting with individuals of varying personality types and personal backgrounds.
Work Environment
QA reviews of surveys will be performed remotely. QA Reviewer must be able to efficiently perform tasks under demanding/competing deadlines. Extensive use of technology is required, including email, internet, laptop, survey software, Microsoft Word/Excel, and communication/webinar software. May require some weekends, depending on deadlines.
Hiring Requirements
Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a long-term care surveyor, working with a Federal or State agency. Must have passed the Surveyor’s Minimum Qualifications Test (SMQT).
Prior experience reviewing survey findings is preferred.
Strong writing and grammar skills.
Nurse surveyors are required to have a current and valid license as a Registered Nurse, issued by the State Board of Nursing, without limitations or restrictions.
Candidates will be asked to conduct a review of a deficiency as part of the hiring process.
Job Types: Permanent, Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
