Your Role and Responsibilities
As an LPN in our telephonic utilization management program, you will:
- Handle calls related to medical services, determining if prior authorization is required.
- Document all calls and interactions in the computer system.
- Perform telephonic clinical assessments.
- Provide initial determinations regarding medical appropriateness for health benefit plans.
- Communicate review outcomes to medical professionals and members as needed.
What You Bring
Education & Experience:
- Active, unrestricted compact LPN license.
- Minimum of one year of clinical experience in direct patient care.
- Experience with electronic health records or healthcare information systems (preferred).
Technical Requirements:
- Reliable internet with minimum speeds of 25 Mbps download and 25 Mbps upload.
Skills & Abilities:
- Strong verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Sound decision-making skills.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently manage responsibilities.
- Basic proficiency with computers and Microsoft Outlook.
