Are you a Registered Nurse (RN) looking to make a positive impact on your community? Cedar Park Med is looking for compassionate, driven, and skilled RN’s in the City of Stamford to provide care to all ages. The position involves screening, management and health education of chronic and acute diseases.
Schedule: Part time, approximately 14 hours per week, between 8am - 5pm.
Contract Length: 1 year w/ possible extension
Key Responsibilities
- Promoting primary preventive health care services.
- Conducting intake and assessment and providing comprehensive services for; Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STD), Tuberculosis (TB), and other illnesses.
- Providing early, periodic screening as needed of infants and any school children ages six (6) weeks to 18 years or older as well as to adults.
- Evaluating, referring patients for further medical interventions when needed, and following up on patients seen in the Department of Health’s clinic as necessary.
- Engaging and educating clinic patients and their families in order to decrease infection rates, increase immunization rates, reduce pediatric lead exposures, promote and enhance health outcomes.
- Engaging and educating parents and guardians about childhood developmental milestones, including anticipatory guidance, disease prognosis, treatment, medications and follow up.
- Educating parents/guardians and patients about Linking clients to appropriate community services.
Qualifications
- Valid and current BLS and CPR certifications
- Valid nursing license in the state of Connecticut.
- Ability to respond quickly and appropriately to health-related emergencies.
- Compassionate, responsible, and reliable with excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and maintain a safe, supportive environment.
- Two professional references/letters of recommendation
