As a RN, you will carry out our mission to improve the experience of aging together by delivering, coordinating, evaluating the total nursing care for residents/patients in the assigned area (approximately 20 to 25 beds.)
What will I do as a RN?
Perform nursing care according to established nursing standards and individualizes care based on the care plan and physician orders.
Function as shift Charge Nurse as assigned and oversee care delivery and completion of nursing tasks by RNs, LPNs and GNAs.
Performs resident/patient assessments upon admission and per unit standards
Perform clinical rounds to ensure patient safety, comfort and regulatory compliance.
Maintain resident/patient clinical records according to established policies and procedures; make corrections and additions to medical records following facility standards and procedures.
Transcribe physicians' orders to resident/patient charts, medication records etc. as required.
Administer medications and treatments according to regulations and established procedures.
Receive report from off-going shift and gives report to oncoming shift during walking rounds.
Complete required documentation related to the patient admission, transfer, and discharge processes and ensures that all steps have been completed.
What is required in this position?
Graduation from an accredited registered nurse curriculum is required; Bachelors degree in Nursing preferred.
Active Registered Nurse licensure without disciplinary infractions by Maryland Board of Nursing.
Current BLS certification required.
IV insertion skills preferred.
One year of recent Medical-Surgical experience is required for assignment to Baker Rehab, and is desirable for all other assignments.
At least 1 year prior continual experience with the same long-term care facility is required. 2 or more years of service are preferred.
