- Lead clinical performance expectations and strategy for correctional nursing operations to elevate standards of care delivery organizations through daily operations management and procedures aligned with mission, vision, and values.
- Registered professional nurse with authority and responsibility for the administration of nursing regions, defining and maintaining standards of nursing practice, and patient care management within correctional client sites.
- Responsible for improving the functionality and effectiveness of nursing practices, the nursing leader organization, Directors of Medical Operations, nurses, and supporting team.
- Partner with medical staff and management teams to facilitate teamwork to collaboratively accomplish organizational goals.
- Represent nursing staff viewpoints to connect leadership, management, nursing operations team, practitioners, and clients.
- Provide nursing consultation regarding effective resource management, reporting, and clinical effectiveness recommendations to elevate care and reduce waste.
- Serve as the spokesperson to clients and medical operations to explain and obtain buy-in for improvement.
- Set the vision for nursing practices to ensure the delivery of safe, timely, and efficient patient care.
- Organize, coordinate, develop, and review nursing care standards to meet all regulatory compliance and quality of care standards.
- Lead and develop nursing team by providing onboarding support, performance goals, feedback, and professional development opportunities.
- Cultivate client relationships and serve as the nursing liaison by attending national and community meetings.
- Participate in educational sessions for medical staff regarding appropriate documents standards and quality improvement.
- Develop and oversee departmental budget and reports.
- Attend financial meetings and report financial metrics for department.
- Attend advisory meetings and jail summits sponsored by the organization to train and support improvement and risk management.
- Demonstrate commitment and dedication to providing clinical support and guidance in the development and deployment of initiatives designed to solve problems and make lives easier.
- Remain clinically relevant with the ability to coach during the delivery of care at client sites.
- Serve as a resource and consultant for all departments supporting medical operations.
- Participate in new practitioner orientation, peer reviews, case reviews, and applicable depositions 30 (b)(6).
- Be accessible 24/7 to support nursing advocacy including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Maintain an accurate and up-to-date strategic planning manual with continuity BUS plan and goals.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with Master’s Degree in Nursing or related field is required.
- 10+ years of experience in progressively responsible operational and nursing management positions.
- Current and clear nursing licensure with the commitment to obtain licensure in all states of operations.
