Join our dynamic medical/surgical practice, where you will play a crucial role in enhancing the well-being and performance of our patients. Advanced Plastic and Hand Surgery in Dayton, Ohio, is seeking a skilled and compassionate LPN or RN with a passion for hand and upper extremity medicine to join our team. In particular, we treat and repair injuries of the hand and upper extremity, peripheral nerve problems, and help patients with painful conditions such as arthritis, tendonitis, and nerve injuries.
You will collaborate with our healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients, including diagnosis of their conditions, helping to determine appropriate treatment plans, promoting injury prevention, rehabilitation, and overall fitness and well-being. You will work closely in a collaborative fashion with our team and surgeons and receive ongoing training and mentorship to develop these diagnostic skills and expertise.
We can provide you with a mentorship training model under the guidance of our hand surgeon.
Responsibilities:
● Help liaison and coordinate with other practices as an ambassador for our practice.
● Injury assessment and prevention.
● Conduct thorough assessments of patients’ injuries/conditions and develop personalized treatment plans.
● Implement injury prevention strategies through education and specialized training programs.
● Discuss surgical and non-surgical treatment options with patients, based on their personalized treatment plans.
● Be an advocate and a resource for your patients to achieve the best possible outcomes.
● Assist with clerical duties, insurance pre-certs, BWC authorizations, FMLA, arranging surgeries, and documentation.
● Medical assistance as needed (rooming patients, wound checks, suture and staple removal, draw injections).
● Assist with in-office procedures; patient prep, surgical assisting and post-op dressings/instructions.
● Brace and splint fittings, DME orders.
Rehabilitation:
● Design and implement rehabilitation programs to facilitate the recovery of patients.
● Monitor progress and adjust treatment plans as needed to ensure optimal results.
● Guide and customize hand therapy rehabilitation plans.
Collaboration:
● Work closely under the guidance and mentorship of our surgeons. We will provide you a mentorship training model under the guidance of our hand surgeon to help you develop detailed expertise and skills in the diagnosis and treatment of hand and upper extremity-related conditions.
● Work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care for patients.
● Communicate effectively with patients and staff to integrate training and rehabilitation programs seamlessly.
● Collaborate on special projects, as needed.
Documentation:
● Maintain accurate and detailed records of assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes.
● Collaborate with the healthcare team to contribute to comprehensive patient records.
Qualifications:
● State licensure as required by regulations.
● CPR and First Aid certification preferred- can be provided if hired.
● Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
● Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
