Overview
As a Registered Nurse-Med Surg, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care, particularly to individuals admitted to the medical-surgical unit. You will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care, as well as collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure positive patient outcomes. Your expertise and compassion will be crucial in meeting the diverse needs of patients and guiding them through the healing process.
Key responsibilities
- Conducting patient assessments and developing individualized care plans
- Administering medications and treatments as prescribed
- Monitoring and recording patient vital signs and medical information
- Providing assistance and support to patients and their families
- Collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals to devise and adjust treatment plans
- Ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations
- Utilizing electronic medical records and other documentation systems accurately
- Participating in patient education and discharge planning
- Responding to medical emergencies and providing immediate care
- Maintaining a clean and organized patient care environment
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of patient care practices

Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in the applicable state
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent degree
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical-surgical nursing
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Demonstrated proficiency in clinical skills and patient care techniques
- Strong understanding of medical-surgical nursing practices and procedures
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to collaborate effectively within interdisciplinary teams
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work calmly and efficiently in high-pressure situations
