CNA - Certified Nursing Assistant
Fireside Health Care Center currently is currently looking for a full-time Director of Nursing.
Fireside Health Care Center is a 66-bed, short-term rehabilitation facility located in Santa Monica, California. We are accepting applications for the position of Director of Nursing. Our company culture centers on a passion for outstanding regulatory compliance and noteworthy customer service!

We are looking for experienced Director of Nursing with a proven track record of success. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned leader with excellent clinical skills and a "hands on" approach to teaching and leadership skills. Communication skills are vital to the success of this position. We are looking for a leader who is compassionate and intelligent, who enjoys working with short-term rehabilitation patients and leading a team of skilled professionals.

Requirements:
- Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the nursing service department, as well as its programs and activities, in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the long-term care facility.
- Develop, maintain, and periodically update written policies and procedures that govern the day-to-day functions of the nursing service department.
- Develop and maintain written job descriptions for each level of nursing personnel.
- Develop, implement, and maintain an ongoing Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement program for the nursing service department related to Quality of Care, Quality of Life and resident choice.
- Serve on, participate in, and attend various committees of the facility (i.e., Infection Control, Policy Advisory, Pharmaceutical, Budget, Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement etc.) as required, and as appointed by the Administrator.
- Recruiting and retaining the number and levels of nursing personnel necessary to meet the nursing care needs of each resident.
- Develop work assignments and schedule duty hours, and/or assist nursing supervisory staff in completing and performing such tasks.
- Participate in developing performance evaluation schedules, criteria, and annual reviews for the nursing service department (e.g., RNs, LVNs, CNAs, etc.).
- Participate in the planning, conducting, and/or scheduling of timely in-service training classes to ensure a well-educated and competent nursing service department.
- Participate in the development and implementation of an effective orientation program that orients the new employee to the facility, its policies and procedures, and to his/her job position and duties.
- Develop and maintain methods for coordination of nursing services with other resident services.
- Attend and participate in continuing educational programs designed to keep you abreast of changes in your profession, as well as to maintain your license on a current status.
- Develop and implement procedures for the safe operation of all nursing service equipment.
- Prepare and plan the nursing service department's budget and submit to the Administrator for his/her review, recommendations, and/or approval.

Salary: $165,000 - $175,000 per year

Experience:
- Must be a graduate of an accredited college or university.
- Must possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in this state.
- Must possess a current Basic Life Support [BLS] certificate.
