Responsibilities
Position Description:
- Always represent Crouse Medical Practice in a courteous and professional manner.
- Commits to a customer service oriented culture within his/her area which includes service orientation to work processes, staff customer service and actively participates and supports development of key customer service outcomes.
- Direct and oversee clinical applications staff in developing responsibilities and meeting departmental goals.
- Conduct annual performance evaluations and monitor quality of work of staff.
- Engages all constituent groups including Physicians, Advance Practice Practioners (NPs and PAs), Nursing, Leadership and Information Technology (IT) employees to ensure the achievement of strategic goals as they relate to decisions, implementation, maintenance and upgrading of electronic health record.
- Competently serves as the liaison between Physicians, Advance Practice Practioners, Clinical Staff and IT for all matters related to clinical information systems within a healthcare context.
- Consistently provides leadership in managing and implementing change and ensures an environment that supports the clinical initiatives of the organization.
- Collaborates with IT to proactively identify potential problems and technical constraints and assists with installations and upgrades.
- Provides educational services as a subject matter expertise on the electronic health record to Physicians, Advanced Practice Practioners, Clinical Staff and Leadership; creates and maintains documentation for all system processes and procedures.
- Collaborates with Leadership on communication strategies for electronic health record system changes for the Physicians, APPs and clinical staff and demonstrates leadership in Nursing/IT needs by identifying solutions or ideas for these needs.
- Collaborates with IT and Nursing to prepare for and participate in system outages; identifies areas of opportunity to improve processes leading up to and during system downtimes; assists Nursing with workflow optimization and documentation of downtime procedures.
- Co-chairs the Medent Change Management Committee; actively attends and participates in councils and committees as needed.
- Coordinates activities and interactions with other clinical departments on an on-going basis.
- Participates, collaborates and actively engages in meetings to achieve goals and mutually beneficial outcomes. Reports activity, progress and performance of initiatives.
- Assumes other duties as assigned by department leadership.
Qualifications And Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, Healthcare Informatics, or related field required.
- Currently licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State.
- 1-3 years of experience preferred.
- Minimum of 1 years’ supervisory experience.
- System support in an ambulatory setting required; Medent experience strongly preferred.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Must be dependable, punctual, relate well with others and able to meet deadlines.
Pay Range: $75,000 - $95,000
