Job Summary
The Director of Nursing (DON) is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing the nursing staff and ensuring the delivery of high-quality care to residents in an assisted living facility. The DON will implement policies and procedures that promote resident rights, maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations, and foster a culture of excellence in nursing administration. This role requires strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of nursing management, and a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for all residents.
Duties
- Lead and manage the nursing department, ensuring adherence to best practices in resident care.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate care plans tailored to individual resident needs.
- Oversee compliance with state and federal regulations related to nursing practices.
- Ensure that all nursing staff are trained in resident rights and HIPAA standards.
- Collaborate with other departments to enhance overall facility operations and resident satisfaction.
- Conduct regular assessments of nursing services and implement improvements as needed.
- Mentor and support nursing staff in their professional development and performance improvement.
- Maintain accurate documentation of resident care activities and nursing procedures.
Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license with significant experience in nursing administration or management.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and nursing practices relevant to assisted living environments.
- Familiarity with care plan development and implementation processes.
- Understanding of resident rights and commitment to advocating for residents’ needs.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with residents, families, and staff.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team while maintaining a focus on quality patient care.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
