Job Overview
We are actively seeking a committed and experienced Quality Assurance Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic team in a full-time remote role. Your responsibilities will encompass managing quality assurance functions, spearheading improvement initiatives, conducting audits of clinical documentation, and delivering staff education—all while contributing to our mission of providing compassionate home healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct remote audits of clinical documentation to verify compliance with the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) and federal standards.
- Develop, implement, and oversee quality improvement plans and corrective actions.
- Maintain comprehensive records of audit findings and follow-up actions.
- Review and audit patient charts to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with regulations.
- Offer constructive feedback to care staff regarding necessary documentation corrections or enhancements.
- Facilitate virtual training sessions or one-on-one coaching calls to address compliance concerns or policy updates.
- Analyze patient care trends and provide insights aimed at performance improvement.
- Collaborate with leadership through virtual meetings to discuss quality improvement objectives and performance metrics.
- Review incident reports and ensure timely implementation of follow-up actions.
- Stay updated on changes to Illinois state and federal home healthcare regulations to maintain current policies.
- Support the onboarding process and provide virtual training for new staff, emphasizing quality assurance and regulatory compliance.
- Provide ongoing education to ensure staff adherence to organizational policies and best practices.
- Identify and proactively address risks related to patient safety and agency compliance.
- Ensure timely reporting and resolution of incidents or grievances.
- Act as the primary liaison during remote audits and inspections.
- Regularly update management on quality performance and areas for enhancement.
Required Skills
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Illinois.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in home healthcare or a comparable healthcare environment.
- Strong knowledge of state and federal home healthcare regulations.
- Experience in quality assurance, compliance, or performance improvement is preferred.
- Exceptional communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in clinical documentation systems and virtual collaboration platforms (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams).
Qualifications
- Nursing degree from an accredited program.
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Illinois.
- At least 3 years of experience in home healthcare or a similar healthcare setting.
- Experience in quality assurance, compliance, or performance improvement is preferred.
