Job Description: Director of Wellness
The Director of Nursing is responsible for overseeing the delivery of all resident care while maintaining compliance with state, federal, and corporate expectations and guidelines at all times. Care delivery will be tailored to fit each resident and to reflect approaches best for those we serve. Main areas of focus and oversight include the following: care management, medication management, risk management, and quality assurance, and staff management. This role directly supervises, motivates, and encourages all resident care staff. An unwavering focus on customer service and resident and family relations are critical. Qualified candidates will have a compassionate and caring style with a professional nursing license in good standing in the state of Florida. They will lead by example with unwavering customer service demonstrated by healthy and thriving resident and family relationships.
Preferred Background:
- Valid RN or LPN license in the state of FL
- Three years of management experience preferred
- Experience caring for residents with dementia preferred
- Experience working in an assisted living/personal care setting strongly preferredThe Director of Nursing is responsible for overseeing clinical operations for Providence Senior Living. Director of Nursing embodies the mission of the company and will set goals to be achieved by the nursing department. The individual hired must be a self started, ready to jump in and do whatever it takes. This position is also responsible for analyzing clinical performance and data to identify and address quality trends and provide direction on desired outcomes for practice. This position works collaboratively with the Executive Director and other managers. This position reports to the Executive Director.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Ensures effective and efficient daily operations within the wellness (Nursing Care) department.
- Directly supervises nursing and personal care staff in the management of resident well-being and care.
- Assesses the health, functional and psycho-social status of residents and proactively manages their care
- Develops the Wellness team
- Ensures superior care and promotes service excellence.
- Ensures that the community meets all Federal and State guidelines and requirements.
Education/Experience/License/Certification
- Must have a caring heart, willing to serve others
- Current state RN or LPN license as required by state regulations
- Three years of nursing experience
- Two years supervisory experience required
- Must have experience in hiring staff, managing budget and managing schedules.
- Current CPR certification
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing from accredited nursing college or university (Preferred)
- Current First Aid certification (preferred)
- Experience in Assisted Living or Long-term care (preferred)
- Experience in dementia care (Preferred)
- Must be flexible and prepared to assist on a variety of shifts including nights, weekends and holidays.
