Responsibilities:
The Director of Nursing oversees the daily direct nursing care services for patients of the facility, using resources effectively and efficiently to attain and maintain the highest level of care in accordance with regulatory standards. Other responsibilities include:
- Oversees all regular and PRN nursing staff, including doing hiring, training, & termination; planning, assigning, and directing work; coaching and motivating the nursing team; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
- Manages & maintains the nursing schedule, including building PRN depth to ensure coverage
- Monitors to ensure all nursing duties are carried out
- Oversees the Intake Team
- Implements the training program
- Manages facility infection control system and procedures
- Serves as the Risk Coordinator
- Oversees incident reporting procedures
- Oversees facility interaction with toxicology laboratories & pharmacies
- Ensures seamless service experience for all patients
- Is able to perform all duties & responsibilities of the staff nurses (and demonstrate strong nursing skills)
- Serves as “Manager on Call” periodically
- Works cooperatively and collaboratively with everyone including employees, management and external agencies
- Does additional duties as assigned
- Reports directly to the Executive Director
