Direct Physician Associates is looking for a Nurse Practitioner to diagnose and treat health conditions, as well as promote good health practices. As an advanced nurse practitioner, you’ll be our go-to person for ensuring the best patient care possible. The job description of a nurse practitioner includes conducting physical examinations, interpreting lab tests and overseeing patients’ health. You’ll be both a health practitioner and an educator, supporting disease prevention practices and helping people lead healthy lives. Extensive clinical experience in primary care is vital. As a Nurse Practitioner, you’ll have to work closely with other healthcare professionals, so you should have a team spirit and a positive attitude. Responsibilities
- Patient assessment:Conducting thorough patient interviews to gather medical history, performing physical examinations, and documenting findings.
- Diagnosis and treatment:Analyzing patient data to diagnose medical conditions, developing treatment plans, and prescribing medications as needed.
- Ordering and interpreting tests:Ordering laboratory tests, imaging studies, and other diagnostic procedures, and interpreting the results to inform treatment decisions.
- Chronic disease management:Managing ongoing health conditions like diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, and chronic lung disease, including monitoring medication adherence and making adjustments as necessary.
- Preventive care:Providing preventive screenings, immunizations, and health education to promote wellness and early disease detection.
- Patient education:Explaining diagnoses, treatment options, and self-care strategies to patients in a clear and understandable manner.
- Collaboration with other healthcare providers:Consulting with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare team members to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Documentation:Maintaining accurate and detailed medical records, including patient assessments, diagnoses, treatment plans, and progress notes.

Education:
- Master's Degree in nursing (MSN) program
Experience:
- Nurse Practitioner: 1 year (Required)
- Clinical documentation improvement: 1 year (Preferred)
- Direct patient care 1-2 years (Required)
License/Certification:
- Certified Nurse Practitioner (Required)
- Pennsylvania NP License (Required)
- New Jersey NP License (Preferred)
