Description:
Mission Healthcare at Bellevue is looking for a Director of Nursing Services (DNS) for their skilled nursing facility.
The purpose of this position is to provide clinical management, set Patient care standards for all direct care providers and provide complete supervision and management for the nursing department, with coordinated oversight responsibilities of other departments as assigned.
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assume responsibility for the development of nursing service objectives and performance standards of nursing practice for each category of nursing personnel.
- Assume accountability for the development, organization and implementation of approved policies and procedures.
- Direct, evaluate and supervise all Patient care. Initiate corrective action as necessary.
- Assess Patient care needs and assist in the development of individualized plans of care.
- Assume responsibility for implementation of OBRA and Prospective Payment System (PPS) Minimum Data Set completion schedules.
- Assess Patient preadmission and/or admission information and determine appropriate level of care.
- Assume responsibility for development and implementation of nursing rehabilitation and restorative programs.
- Analyze Quality Measure reports, identify concerns and implement corrective action to improve Patient care.
- Assume responsibility for analysis of incident and accident investigation reports to determine cause(s) and implement corrective action(s), when appropriate.
- Assess Patient needs and make recommendations for special rehabilitation programs.
- Evaluate Patient care as related to individualized Patient needs, family involvement and the physician’s plan of care for the Patient.
- Conduct or participate in Patient care conferences.
- Assess Patient responses to medication and treatments. Make appropriate recommendations for nursing action to be implemented.
- Conduct daily Patient rounds and initiate corrective action as necessary. Report problems to Executive Director.
- Identify safety hazards and initiate corrective action.
- Direct implementation of Patients’ Rights.
- Direct and implement nursing service educational programs including, but not limited to, orientation and in-service for licensed and unlicensed nursing personnel.
- Conduct staff meetings with all shifts for purposes of planning, coordinating and implementing nursing service policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate consistent management of nursing service problems, emergency situations, and initiate life-saving measures in the absence of a physician

Requirements:
- BSN preferred, but not required
- Valid WA state RN license
- 3 to 5 years of recent SNF experience
- Prior experience as a DON/DNS, Assistant DON/DNS, or RCM is preferred but not required
- Excellent communication skills

Pay: $55.00 - $63.00 per hour
