Horizon Health is a 501(c)(3) non-profit Behavioral Health Services Organization. We are currently seeking a Nurse Practitioner to work within our medically assisted treatment (MAT) program providing care to our patients suffering from opioid addiction. As an advanced practice registered nurse, you will work as a member of our Patient Care Team ensuring the best recovery plan possible for our patients. The job description of a nurse practitioner includes conducting physical examinations, interpreting lab tests and overseeing patients’ health. You’ll be both a health practitioner and an educator, supporting drug prevention practices and helping people lead healthy lives. As a Nurse Practitioner, you’ll have to work closely with other healthcare professionals, behavioral counselors, targeted case managers and social workers so you should have a team spirit and a positive attitude. Patience, problem-solving skills and communication ability are important. Responsibilities
- Examine patients and their medical records
- Order and study diagnostic tests (urine drug screens)
- Observe health conditions and illnesses and make referrals when necessary
- Prescribe medications (schedule II drugs)
- Maintain accurate records and schedules
- Inform patients about their health conditions and prescribed medications
- Educate patients and their family members on diseases, epidemics and prevention
- Oversee patients’ overall health
- Promote good health practices
- Advance professional knowledge and conduct research
Skills
- Proven experience as Nurse Practitioner in a clinic, hospital, ER or other setting
- Expertise in primary care
- Knowledge of health and patient care regulations
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong ethics
- Team spirit with a positive attitude
- Patience and cool headedness
- Willingness to continue gaining knowledge and clinical experience
- Valid nurse practitioner license
- Valid DEAX (we offer training and assistance in obtaining license)
Work Onsite and via Telehealth
- Horizon Health utilizes both onsite and Telehealth capabilities to care for patients.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $110,000.00 per year
