Chief Nursing Officer

Our client, an acute care hospital located in Hollister, California, has retained our services to identify an experienced nursing leader for a Chief Nursing Officer position as described below:

The CNO has overall responsibility for a total of 138 nursing professionals, including 8 Directors
Has accountability and responsibility for planning, organizing, developing, directing, coordinating and evaluating nursing and ancillary services throughout the organization with regard to clinical practice, quality patient care, fiscal accountability/productivity, human resources management, regulatory compliance, leadership, staff development and professionalism.
Participates with administration, medical staff and other clinical staff in developing the Hospital’s mission, goals, strategic direction and financial plans.
Promotes interdisciplinary collaboration with other departments and the medical staff to facilitate positive patient care outcomes and a desirable work environment for employees.
25-bed, not-for-profit, acute care rural hospital with additional skilled nursing beds and rural health clinics.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in nursing is required; Master’s degree preferred
Minimum of five (5) years of nursing leadership experience in complex community hospital settings with a preference for experience in similar a CNO role
Experience in strategic planning, growing service lines, and developing/implementing clinical education programs
Ability to develop a strong culture of accountability
