CDI Specialist (Full-Time , Fully Remote)
Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) Quality Auditor to join our team. The CDI Quality Auditor will conduct quality assurance reviews of patient medical records to ensure accurate and complete documentation that reflects the patient's severity and complexity of illness. The CDI Quality Auditor will also review queries from a compliance perspective using the ACDIS/AHIMA Practice Brief as the standard. Adherence to client specific CDI processes and procedures.

Essential Duties:
· Review assigned medical records for complete and accurate documentation of all relevant diagnoses and procedures.
· Identify missed documentation opportunities within medical records, both previously reviewed and not reviewed by the team.
· Evaluate queries from a compliance perspective, using ACDIS/AHIMA Practice Brief as the standard.
· Adhere to guidelines set forth by ACDIS, AAPC, and AHIMA.
· Demonstrate an understanding of the business of healthcare, including MS and APR DRG payer issues, audit risks, documentation opportunities, POA, quality metrics, hierarchical condition categories, and various risk adjustment methodologies.
· Collaborate with clients, co-workers, and management to meet the specific needs of each assignment in alignment with core values.
Required Qualifications:
· Current ACDIS CCDS certificate
· Five plus years of clinical documentation experience in an acute care facility.
· Two plus years of CDI auditing experience.
· Current RN license or graduate of medical school with five plus years of acute care experience preferred.
· Three years of experience with multiple health facilities, electronic medical records, and encoders.
· Minimum two years of remote experience.
· Thorough understanding of both MS and APR DRG methodologies and compliant query practices as outlined by ACDIS/AHIMA.
· Proficiency in using multiple computer applications for medical record review and Microsoft products (Excel, Word, Outlook).
· Proficiency with ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS.
