Having the flexibility to rotate between front and back office duties as a receptionist or medical assistant provides a fluid work environment.
Position Summary
As a Medical Assistant Front and Back Office, you will be responsible for assisting the clinical team in providing personalized patient care. You may be responsible for multi-phone lines, triaging calls, responding to client emails, scheduling clinic appointments, checking -in/out patients, as well as providing quality assurance of electronic patient charts. This role will field questions from clients and the general public regarding services, operational hours, etc.
In the Medical assistant role, you would be responsible for providing information to patients, triaging medical complaints, performing a suite of pre-wellness tests (EKG, spirometry, ankle-brachial exam, body composition analysis, and blood draws, etc), authorizing prescription refills along with preparing and administering medications. You will support doctors and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization and communication.

Essential Job Functions:
This is a medical assistant/front desk role that provides administrative and clinical support to clients in a busy, fast paced environment. Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills to support communicating with our clientele face to face, by email and phone.
This position requires intermediate computer skills in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe, EMR (athena) and must be able to effectively utilize standard office equipment. Must have experience in family or internal medicine primary care.
The ideal candidate will have prior experience working as a medical assistant and receptionist in a high-volume medical practice.
Qualifications

- Answer multi-line phones and emails in a professional manner.
- Welcome visitors, check patients in/out.
- Assist patients with completing paperwork and documents.
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments.
- High school or equivalent (Required)
- Certified Medical Assistant: 3 years (Required)
- Receptionist experience 1 year (Required
- Phlebotomy: 1 year (required)
- EMR systems: 2 year (Required)
- BLS Certification (Required)
- A minimum of 3 year experience in a medical office setting (Preferred)
- Must maintain a positive attitude
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, email, Internet and use of office equipment.
- Must work as part of a team to ensure optimal patient care
- Must have the ability to organize and manage time efficiently.
- Demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to communicate with patients, physicians, staff, and others in a clear, positive, and professional manner
- Ability to multi-task and work independently in the absence of supervision.
Certification in one of the following Medical Assistant Programs:
- The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
- The Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification from American Medical Technologists (AMT)
- The National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) certification from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
- The Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) certification from the National Health career Association (NHA)

Pay: $19.00 - $25.00 per hour
