Mason Wright Senior Living has provided quality, affordable assisted and independent living for seniors since 1892. Our campus, located at 74 Walnut Street in Springfield, MA is comprised of 90 units of assisted living, including memory care, and 28 units of independent living.
We are currently hiring CNAs for the following shifts:
- 2nd shift, Part Time, 16 hours, 2 positions open, 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm. This position is required to work every other weekend plus 1 weekday.
- 2nd shift, Full Time, 40 hours, 1 position open, 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm. This position is required to work every other weekend and alternating holidays.
What is the CNA job all about?
In the CNA roles you will assist residents with their Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and assess residents’ need for additional medical attention. You will also provide residents with reminders and cueing to take medications, under the careful supervision of the Health & Wellness Director.
What will a CNA do?
- The CNA will assist residents with ADLs, including toileting, bathing and dressing. The CNA will also assist residents with ambulation which may include mobility devices, including canes, walkers and wheelchairs.
- Help residents with medications under the careful supervision of the Health & Wellness Director. Cue residents and provide reminder to take medication.
- The CNA must be able to document in, and refer to, all pertinent lists of record keeping systems, i.e. diabetic list, toileting book, dietary needs book, daily communication book and miscellaneous flow sheets.
- Escort residents to activities and medical appointments within the Mason Wright Community and in the greater community, as needed.
- As an CNA, you will maintain day-to-day cleanliness in resident’s rooms and bathrooms and assure tidiness in all accessible storage areas and common areas.
- Assure that all needed supplies for resident care is in stock. Responsible for communicating to the Health & Wellness Director when more ADL supplies are needed.
- The CNA will observe and immediately report any changes in resident’s status to Health & Wellness Director and/or RN/LPNs. This includes changes in physical and/or cognitive/emotional status.
What do we require to be a CNA?
- Certified Nursing Assistant License required.
- A minimum of 2 yrs. direct care experience with the elderly.
- Knowledge of, and/or, 1 yr. of experience working with people with Alzheimer’s Disease and/or related disorders with sensitivity to issues of aging.
- Ability to be flexible with scheduling and work assignments, as well as the ability to work as a team.
- Must be punctual and reliable
- Must work as assigned and be flexible with hours if needed.
- Work collaboratively with peers as a team.
- Must maintain all certifications as required for employment.
- Must pass CORI and drug test.
