Job Description:
The Director of Nursing (DON) oversees all aspects of nursing care and clinical services in a skilled nursing facility, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care to residents while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The DON leads the nursing team, develops policies and procedures, and fosters a culture of excellence, teamwork, and resident-centered care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and oversight to the nursing department, ensuring optimal staffing, performance, and care delivery.
- Develop, implement, and monitor nursing policies, procedures, and standards of care.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, including federal, state, and local guidelines.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create and implement individualized care plans.
- Recruit, train, and mentor nursing staff, fostering professional growth and development.
- Monitor clinical performance, quality metrics, and infection control programs, addressing areas for improvement.
- Serve as a liaison with residents, families, and external agencies to address concerns and improve satisfaction.
- Manage budgets and resources for the nursing department efficiently and effectively.
- Lead quality assurance initiatives and prepare the facility for regulatory inspections.
