Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care to students with health-related issues, including injuries, illnesses, and ongoing medical conditions.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments according to established protocols.
- Maintain health records for students, ensuring they are up-to-date and confidential.
- Collaborate with teachers and school staff to accommodate students' health needs and ensure their safety.
- Provide health education to students and staff on various health topics.
- Respond to emergency situations as necessary, providing first aid and emergency care as needed.
- Monitor and maintain a safe and clean environment for students.
Qualifications:
- Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) License in Virginia required.
- Previous experience in school nursing or pediatric care is preferred.
- Strong understanding of health assessments, treatments, and emergency procedures.
- Ability to work effectively in a school setting, collaborating with teachers, staff, and parents.
- Compassionate, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
