Description
MaineHealth is recruiting for an experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) also known as Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to provide urgent care, same day care, and primary care management in a virtual environment under the supervision of the Supervising Physician, following the established standards and practices. This position works in a remote capacity as part of the team covering indirect work within provider In Basket folders. In Basket work will come from multiple providers at various MaineHealth ambulatory practices and may include overflow work and coverage for time off and leaves. Position may conduct synchronous video visits on Virtual Same Day Care Service within established MaineHealth standards as appropriate. Participates in continuous process improvement, including thoughtful engagement with process consideration for how to adjust and refine process, providing feedback to leadership as appropriate, and willingness to try new ways of accomplishing overall team goals.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree and successful completion of accredited physician assistant program or BSN (MSN preferred) and successful completion of accredited nurse practitioner program.
- License/Certifications: Current Physician Assistant license issued by the states of Maine and New Hampshire (or eligible for licensure) and NCCPA certification or current Nursing License issued by the states of Maine and New Hampshire (or eligible for licensure). Current BLS.
- Minimum 3 years professional practice with primary care experience preferred.
- Demonstrated competency in providing comprehensive healthcare, including evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment.
- Knowledge of accreditation standards and compliance requirements.
- Demonstrated proficient use of electronic medical record.
- Excellent verbal communication and proficient writing skills.
- Strong computer skills.
- Is HIPAA compliant.
- Demonstrated Integration of theoretical knowledge base and clinical expertise in decision making.
