Due to growth, Z. Wilson Talent Solutions is currently recruiting several CDI Specialists to join our growing client. This position will work remotely 100% of the time as a full time employee with strong benefits and opportunities to grow within the company.
The CDI Specialist is a dynamic position responsible for creating and distributing compliant queries to the appropriate providers to ensure high-quality documentation. This process ensures the medical record accurately reflects each patient's true clinical picture.
· Evaluate the clinical indicators and recommendations of various queries received from the MD Reviewer/ Auditor.
· Collaborate and communicate as needed to ensure clarity and prevent misinterpretation, ensuring the query is well-written and directed to the appropriate client provider.
· Create queries in compliance with AHIMA and ACDIS guidelines, as well as AHA Coding Clinic Guidelines, ensuring accurate medical diagnoses and procedures are submitted for reimbursement.
· Develop queries with careful attention to detail, using correct grammar and punctuation.
· Apply ICD-10 coding guidelines and medical terminology to create queries that enhance the accuracy of patient severity of illness and/or risk of mortality, accurately representing the patient's clinical picture in the final code assignment.
· Engage in all educational opportunities provided by ACCDS to stay updated on current coding and query writing guidelines, as well as internal and client policies and procedures.
· Follow ACCDS policies and procedures, as well as Federal and State coding reimbursement guidelines, to ensure documentation supports code assignment with the highest level of specificity.
· Competently use the ACCDS tracking tool for data entry related to reportable criteria.
· Maintain expected productivity and quality standards.
· Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Education:
- 3+ years of experience in a CDI position required
- 2+ years of experience in a clinical position preferred
Education:
- At least one of the following: CDIP, RN, BSN, CCS, CCDS
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in nursing or another related degree

Pay: $90,000.00 - $102,000.00 per year
