Title: Educator,Learning & Development
Job Summary: We are seeking a dynamic Health Information Management Education Specialist to assess, design, and deliver comprehensive learning programs focused on clinical coding, auditing, and documentation improvement. In this role, you will collaborate with department leaders and subject matter experts to create engaging e-learning modules, webinars, and blended learning solutions. You will facilitate training sessions for employees at all levels, from new hires to experienced managers, and continuously evaluate the effectiveness of these programs to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining educational content, overseeing the learning management system (LMS), mentoring staff, and fostering a culture of continuous learning. Additionally, you will support clinical coding topics, respond to inquiries, and collaborate with physicians and internal teams to ensure the accuracy of training materials. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in healthcare coding and education, advanced clinical knowledge, and strong facilitation skills.
What you'll do:
- Assess and Develop Training Programs: Collaborate with department leaders to identify training needs and design comprehensive learning solutions, including e-learning, webinars, and blended formats. Stay current with L&D trends to continuously enhance programs.
- Facilitate and Evaluate Training: Lead engaging training sessions for employees at all levels, from new hires to managers. Gather feedback and use performance metrics to refine training effectiveness.
- Content Creation and Maintenance: Create, update, and manage training materials, ensuring accuracy and alignment with clinical and coding standards. Oversee content within the LMS and other platforms.
- Mentor and Support Learning: Foster a culture of continuous learning through ongoing mentorship and professional development. Respond to clinical and coding inquiries from team members and customers.
- Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs): Work closely with SMEs to ensure training content is relevant and accurate, supporting internal teams and customer deliverables.
- Manage Training Logistics: Coordinate the scheduling and administration of training sessions. Track and report on key metrics to evaluate the impact of learning programs and make improvements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Health Information Management, Nursing, Education, Instructional Design or other related field* required (*Equivalent work experience may substitute degree preference.)
- AHIMA coding credential of CCS required.
- AHIMA CDIP or ACDIS CCDS credential required.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of acute inpatient hospital coding, auditing, and/or CDI experience in a large tertiary hospital required.
- Minimum of 3-5 years education/training experience required
- Experience with electronic health records (i.e., ChartMaxx, Cerner, Meditech, Epic, etc.) required.
- Advanced clinical knowledge of complex disease processes and treatments required.
- Extensive knowledge of regulatory guidelines pertaining to IPPS, CMS-claims based measures, and risk adjustment methodologies required.
- Proficiency with MS-DRG and APR-DRG management concepts required.
- Experience with CDI (Clinical Documentation Improvement) programs preferred.
- Working knowledge of OPPS and regulatory guidelines preferred.

Work Environment:
- This is a full-time remote position. General hours of work are Monday through Friday during regular business hours.
- Work is generally sedentary, requiring long periods at workstation.
- Must have a reliable internet connection, phone, and a dedicated, secure workspace to ensure adherence to HIPAA Privacy and Security policies and procedures when viewing Protected Health Information (PHI).
- Enjoin provides a laptop and other necessary resources to perform duties.
- Potential travel of 20% when necessary.
