We are looking for a dedicated and empathetic Virtual Nurse to become an integral part of our innovative healthcare team. Working under the guidance of the Nursing Director of Medical/Surgical Services and Nurse Manager, the Virtual Nurse will offer hybrid support to the front-line nursing staff. This position uniquely combines bedside care with virtual support, aimed at enhancing patient outcomes and elevating the overall quality of care provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with virtual documentation for patient admissions and discharges to streamline workflows.
- Provide mentorship and support to both new and seasoned nursing professionals, fostering their professional growth.
- Enhance patient satisfaction by conducting virtual leadership rounds and maintaining effective communication with patients and their families.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals from various disciplines to ensure seamless patient care.
- Deliver personalized patient education and document care plans to ensure comprehensive understanding of their hospitalization journey.
- Offer virtual nursing expertise and support to front-line nurses for effective patient care management.
- Monitor clinical metrics, identifying and addressing any incomplete documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) for compliance.
- Assist nursing staff in adhering to established policies and procedures through validation and education.
- Improve service efficiency by engaging with patients and families virtually, allowing bedside nurses to concentrate on direct care.
- Adapt to both virtual and in-person bedside support as required to meet the shifting demands of the healthcare environment.

Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Maryland, or eligibility to practice under a Compact State agreement as outlined by the Maryland Board of Nursing.
- Minimum of 12 months of nursing experience demonstrating clinical proficiency.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Must fulfill all unit-specific certification requirements (e.g., PALS, ACLS, NRP, if applicable).
