JOB SUMMARY:
The Nurse Educator is responsible for answering incoming calls on the 24-7 educational support line and will have varied shifts. The Nurse Educator may also participate in live or phone-based educational sessions. The key transferrable skills for these positions are problem solving, professionalism, compassion, communication, organization, attention to detail, and resourcefulness.
Snow’s business is centered around the patient journey, and the Health Educator, like all positions at Snow, must be open, compassionate, and sensitive to the unique life experiences of these patients and caregivers. The Health Educator must be able to incorporate the unique patient/caregiver experience into the strategies and solutions we provide to our clients.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSBILITIES:

Patient Inbound Calls:
The ability to successfully listen to callers on the Nurse Support Line or in person, closely follow written scripts and FAQs and accurately document outcomes in Salesforce.com is vital. The job requires accurate and prompt data entry on each call. Team members are required to have a good understanding of patient privacy laws (HIPAA) as well as disease knowledge and sensitivity. Nurses are required to prepare Adverse Event forms in compliance with Snow standards and individual client requirements for any health condition and/or medication/device malfunction that occurs while a patient is taking a medication or using a device of a company that Snow Companies has a relationship with. Additional non-phone duties, such as research, reports, etc. will be assigned to be done between phone calls. Professionalism is of utmost importance at all times. Compassion, empathy, time management, and organization are extremely important to successfully fulfill this role. Nurse Health Educators are also responsible for collaborating with Health Education Team members to keep them informed of call totals and issues that arise. Strong teamwork mentality is needed for this position. Participation in ongoing training and monitoring is mandatory.
This position will also require travel to provide presentations at patient education events.
Education and Experience:
Current RN license in good standing required. Basic computer skills, including database data entry, and previous experience with patient communication a must. Fluency in a foreign language is highly desired.
